Admission Profile

  • This program is aimed at applicants that have a degree in any branch of physical and mathematical sciences and engineering. It is necessary that new students have basic knowledge of: differential and integral calculus, differential equations, linear algebra, complex variables, probability and statistics, linear systems, Laplace transform, Fourier transform and series as well as some programming language.

    * For the option in Instrumentation and Control it is also necessary to have a basic knowledge of circuit theory, electronics, classical control and digital control.
    * For the option in High Frequency Electronics it is also necessary to have basic knowledge of electromagnetic theory, circuit theory, antennas and transmission lines.
    * For the option in Telecommunications it is also necessary to have basic knowledge of modulation, transmission techniques and multi-channeling in time and frequency.

Admission Profile

  • Applicants must have a master's degree in any branch of physical and mathematical sciences and engineering closely linked to some of the guidelines of the Ph.D. program. Applicants should have an appropriate academic background that will allow them to face and tackle the problems of doctoral research. It requires in particular a good preparation in mathematics and physics, to have good background in areas related to the chosen orientation for the doctorate and to have understanding and synthesis skills.

  • The graduate profile that our doctoral program offers is to provide a strong and excellent academic platform that will help our graduates to face the academic challenges presented to them, and to deeply understand various issues that will make easier their insertion into the productive and research sector. Ph.D. graduates in the three orientations are trained to perform original and high-level scientific research, as well as actively participate in the generation of new knowledge and effectively release it through the publication of scientific articles in indexed journals of national and international prestige. Graduates will also be able to decisively contribute in solving problems of regional and national interest, as well as to support other educational institutions and producers of goods and services. We believe that graduates of the Ph.D. in Science in Electronics and Telecommunications should have solid background in these topics, to allow them to analyze, study and systematically address the issues they will face at the end of their studies.
