Admission Profile

  • Applicants to this master should have completed their bachelor degree in related areas, such as biological sciences, oceanology, chemistry, pharmacobiology, agriculture, livestock, medical orbiochemical sciences. They should show analytical skills, multidisciplinary work adaptation, initiative, creativity, leadership, independence and social awareness. The knowledge and skills of the applicant will enable him to develop research projects that solve basic or applied problems on the subject of his graduate work.

Graduate Profile

  • The students of this master will have the knowledge and ability to solve problems related to environment, macro and microorganisms and information stored in DNA. The consolidated academic training will allow the student to interact with multidisciplinary teams, propose the most appropriate and feasible methodology to achieve the goals of his research and be able to contribute to the training of human resources at the bachelor and master’s degree. The graduate will also be able to independently join government agencies, research centers, industry, health and educational sector or labor.

  • The Profile of the Graduate in Master of Science in Environmental Biology

    Graduates of this master’s program orientation will be able to participate in the analysis and solution of problems related to the biophysical interactions of ecosystems and living organisms in the context of climate change. The curriculum prepares the graduate on the fundamental aspects of Biology Conservation and Ecology through different spatiotemporal scales. Graduates may use the skills acquired to search and interpret information to bring a solution to relevant environmental problems that will help in the decision-making regarding conservation and management of ecosystem services.

  • The Profile of the Graduate in Master of Science in Marine Biotechnology

    Graduates of this master’s program orientation will be able to participate in the analysis and solution of problems related to the use of marine micro and macro organisms(complete or parts) to produce goods and services useful to man using molecular tools and international quality technology available in the border region where CICESE is located. They will be able to research and develop patentable technology or continue with doctoral studies as well as teach new generations of trained professionals at bachelor and master’s degree.

  • The Profile of the Graduate in Master of Science in Microbiology

    Graduates of this master’s program orientation will be able to join the industry, disease diagnostic and quality control laboratories, microscopy units, work as laboratory technicians, continue with doctoral studies or teach in some areas of microbiology. They will also be able to participate in the analysis and solution of problems related to different areas of microbiology by using scientific methods and advanced technology, to develop original research and contribute to the training of future generations of scientists at bachelor's and master’s degree. The curriculum prepares the graduate to the fundamentals of Microbiology, Microscopy, Molecular and Cellular Micro-Biology.
