flash departamento

The scientific research carried on in the Applied Geophysics Department has two lines of investigation: studies to understand local and regional geological processes, and to define methodologies in which ideas and techniques are proposed for the best realization of these studies.

By orientation and location, these investigations are centered on the Baja California peninsula and surroundings, including oceanic floor and adjacent seas. Nevertheless studies on the rest of the country as well on foreign ones are also realized, normally those ones which have a close relationship with our surrounding.

With respect to methodologies studies, they vary from theoretical aspects to numerical algorithms of simulations, to development and/or modification of measuring instruments.

The capacity, knowledge and ample experience of the Applied Geophysics department, allow it to undertake any theoretical, computational or instrumentation project, wherever methos of exploration geophysics are applicable.
