|The computer sciences constitute a strategic area for the technological and scientific development of the country. In this sense, the Department of Computer Sciences has as objectives contribute in the generation of high-level human resources that can aid in the resolution of the national problems in this area. And to conceive studies on the frontier line, establish connections with the industrial and social sectors for the solution of specific problems related with the departmentâ€™s domain.
The Computer Sciences department is organized in investigation groups in the fields of: parallel and distributed computing, vision and image-processing, scientific computing, software and engineering processes, AI. Through scientific research projects financed by several organizations; the 13 investigators and 3 technicians of the department realize original studies for publish in trade journals and specialized congresses and conferences, obtaining thus one of the leading indicators in academic productivity in this knowledge domain.
The Graduate Program of Computer Sciences produce M.Sc. and Ph.D.â€™s well trained to tackle the technological and scientific challenges of our times. With a high terminal efficiency and productivity, coupled with an appropriate scientific infrastructure makes that our graduates in M.Sc. and Ph.D. programs are widely recognized as a part of the National Program of Graduate Studies of CONACYT.
